A space for in-between moments.
Where coffee meets design.

matcha • coffee • brunch • wine • curated objects

HŪE is a design-led café, wine bar and boutique in Lisbon, created for life’s in-between moments. We serve beautifully made coffee, A++ ceremonial-grade matcha, seasonal brunch on artisan sourdough, homemade cakes, natural wines and beer.

Whether you’re stopping by for your morning coffee, meeting friends for brunch, taking an afternoon matcha break or staying for a glass of wine in the evening, HŪE is a place to enjoy good food, thoughtful design and genuine hospitality.

The Space
Between Places.

HŪE was imagined as a quiet pause from the rhythm of the city - an interior shaped by light, texture and the feeling of slow living.

Inspired by years spent between Stockholm and the Mediterranean, the space brings together Scandinavian simplicity and the warmth and soul of southern Europe.

Soft sandstone tones, textured walls, warm woods and gentle lighting create an atmosphere that feels both grounded and open. Portuguese tiles connect the interior to Lisbon and its tradition of craftsmanship, while subtle influences from Morocco, Greece, the Netherlands and Sweden appear throughout the arches, materials and details.

Every element was chosen to feel natural, tactile and considered. The result is more than a backdrop for coffee or brunch - it is somewhere to gather, feel inspired and take a breath from the city outside.

Matcha, Coffee & Brunch.

At HŪE, it all begins with matcha and coffee.

We serve A++ ceremonial-grade matcha - vibrant, smooth and carefully sourced - alongside a complete coffee menu for every kind of morning and afternoon ritual.

At the heart of our brunch menu are artisan sourdough toasts topped with fresh, seasonal ingredients. The combinations are uncomplicated but full of flavour, with a focus on good produce and beautiful presentation.

And save room for something sweet. Our Basque cheesecake is made here at HŪE - rich and creamy inside, with a deeply caramelised top. You’ll also find a changing selection of homemade cakes and pastries at the counter.

As the day unfolds, the menu changes with it. Stay for a glass of natural wine, something sparkling or a cold beer, accompanied by simple plates made for sharing.

Good ingredients, generous flavours and food worth lingering over.

A Little Something to Take Home.

The boutique is an essential part of HŪE -
a constantly evolving collection of objects, art and design that we genuinely love.

Our shelves bring together pieces discovered on our travels with products from independent makers and carefully selected brands.

You’ll currently find one-of-a-kind handmade vases from the souks of Marrakech, each personally chosen by us during our travels; beautifully designed, eco-conscious skincare from Dutch brand Ajen; a curated selection of design, interiors and photography books; and traditional matcha sets from Japan.

Art is an important part of HŪE too. Our walls currently feature the work of nomadic photographer Andre Perez, who photographs people he encounters on his travels. His black-and-white portraits are filled with character, emotion and individual stories.

This is only the beginning. HŪE will host changing collaborations with photographers, painters, ceramicists and other creatives, giving artists a place to exhibit and sell their work while offering something new to discover with every visit.

Everything in the boutique is chosen with intention - pieces with character, craftsmanship and a story worth taking home.

Meet the Founders.

Behind HŪE are Tom and Frank - two people brought together by a shared love of hospitality and places that make people feel something.

Originally from Poland, Tom has lived in Sweden, Spain and now Portugal, collecting inspiration from different places, cultures, art and design along the way. With a background in interior design and a deep interest in aesthetics, creativity and atmosphere, he always imagined HŪE as more than a café.

Tom designed the interior and shaped the visual identity of HŪE, from its colours and materials to the boutique and its selection of art and objects. His vision was to create somewhere that feels intentional and inspiring, while remaining relaxed and deeply human.

Originally from Sweden, Frank brings years of hospitality experience to HŪE. He has spent a significant part of his working life immersed in cafés and coffee culture, including running two cafés of his own in Stockholm.

He understands that good hospitality is about much more than what is served. His warmth, experience and natural ability to make people feel at ease shape the everyday atmosphere of HŪE - where good coffee and good energy go hand in hand.

Together, Tom and Frank created a place that brings coffee, food, wine, design and creativity under one roof. Somewhere that feels equally right for a quiet morning alone, a long brunch with friends or an evening drink that turns into another.

Everyone Has a Seat at HŪE.

HŪE was created by two LGBTQIA+ owners, and equality, openness and community are at the heart of what we do.

We believe everyone deserves to feel welcome, comfortable and respected - regardless of skin colour, gender, sexuality, identity, beliefs, background or who they choose to love.

Come for coffee, meet a friend, work on an idea, make a new connection or simply enjoy some time to yourself.

Kindness lives here. Differences are celebrated here. Everyone has a seat at our table.

And because love sometimes comes on four paws, your furry family is always welcome too. 🐾

Meet Charlie

Our four-legged resident, occasional host and unofficial head of hospitality.

Charlie takes his responsibilities at HŪE very seriously - mostly by welcoming guests, supervising the room and making sure no treat goes unnoticed.

He is part of the HŪE family and will be very happy to welcome yours too.
